Privacy Policy

Effective Date: 1 November 2026 · Applicable to https://ipaddresslookup.in

1. Scope and Data Minimization Principle

IPAddressLookup.in is designed as a stateless networking utility. Unlike applications that require user accounts or persistent databases, our IP, RDAP, DNS, and subnet tools operate on-demand without storing personal user profiles or historical lookup logs tied to visitors.

2. How Visitor IP Addresses and Tool Queries Are Processed

  • Automatic "What Is My IP" Display: When you load the homepage (/), IPv4 Checker (/ipv4-check), or IPv6 Checker (/ipv6-check), our server reads the source IP address observed by the hosting load balancer solely to return that address and its public registry/network metadata to your browser.
  • Interactive Tool Queries: When you submit an IP address, ASN, or domain name to /api/ip, /api/rdap, or /api/dns, the server validates the input and queries the corresponding upstream source (Regional Internet Registry RDAP server, Cloudflare DNS-over-HTTPS resolver, or configured IP intelligence API).
  • Client-Side Deterministic Calculators: Inputs entered into the Subnet Calculator, IP Range Calculator, IP Validator, and IP Format Converter are processed directly in memory and are never transmitted to third-party servers.

3. Ephemeral Rate Limiting and Operational Logs

To protect upstream registry quotas and prevent automated scraping or denial-of-service abuse, our API endpoints maintain short-lived, in-memory rate-limit counters keyed by client IP and endpoint class (with a 60-second sliding window). Standard hosting infrastructure access logs may transiently record request metadata for operational security and error diagnostics.

4. Upstream Data Processors and Public Registries

When performing live RDAP or DNS lookups, your target query parameter (for example, the queried IP prefix, ASN, or domain name—not your personal identity) is sent from our server to the authoritative Regional Internet Registry (such as APNIC, ARIN, or RIPE NCC) or public DNS-over-HTTPS resolver (Cloudflare 1.1.1.1) to fulfill the request.

Frequently Asked Questions

Concise answers verified against IANA, APNIC, and IETF protocol standards

What is the primary purpose of Privacy Policy?

Review how visitor IP addresses, tool queries, upstream providers, and server logs are handled. Every output on IPAddressLookup.in follows IETF RFC standards and cites primary RIR/IANA sources.

Are IP and network queries on this page logged or shared with advertisers?

No. IPAddressLookup.in operates on a strict data-minimization model with stateless query execution, short-lived caching (15 minutes max for upstream RDAP/DNS), and zero persistent user lookup history.

How often is the technical documentation on IPAddressLookup.in reviewed?

All protocol calculators, RFC citations, and Indian telecom notes are verified by the 2026-11-01 editorial and engineering review cycle.
